What Is Your View On Author/Philosopher Marquis de Sade?

I think he was a brilliant writer and great thinker and that he was a fighter of extreme freedom.

However, my problem with him was his non-consensual sexual acts and incidents of torture.

Have you read any of his works?
 
I haven't actually read any of his works, but to me, he is a symbol that people remain as they have always been, whether it's in the 18th century or 21st century. Most people consider him as some kind of debaucherious monster, though. (P.S feel free 2 correct me if tht wrd's spelling is wrong)
