What is your saddest movie scene?

This is going to sound wierd - but I think one of the saddest moments in a film is in Never Been Kissed. When Josie is going to Prom, stanRAB outside for her date and gets pelted with the eggs. I don't know why but it really strikes a chord with me - the emotion there is actually portrayed really well by Drew Barrymore.

Bambi - 'Mother, Mother' gets me everytime

The Notebook - it's just sad, especially since my Gran is that exact way, has bouts of remembering, then screams at my Dad, not knowing he is her son

Fox and the Hound - Leaving the Fox in the wooRAB, how could you!

Titanic - When the Mum is tucking the kiRAB up in bed, as the water is rising! Really disturbed me as a child.

I'm ashamed to say Marley and Me made me cry the most. My Dog is getting that way and oh my, it was sad. Esp when Aniston gave back the necklace!

Mine has to be when Will Smith has to kill his dog in I Am Legend. I don't mind admitting I really cried at that and it took me a good hour after the film to stop feeling sad! I think the music really added to create the sadness.

I was going to say this as well! I watched ET for the first time the other day and I bawled my eyes out at that bit. So weird since I've never cried at a movie before.

"Ouch" :(

I'm the opposite! I love Matt Damon but am not a huge Robin Williams fan, except when he plays roles like that one. He is talented as a comic actor, but he's so much better as a serious one.

Oh, and another scene that made me cry! When I was in primary school, the teachers made the mistake of showing 'The Land Before Time' to us. Imagine thirty 5 year olRAB in tears after Littlefoot's mother died! They stuck to comedy films after that.

I have a few.

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest-
when The Chief smothers McMurphy

Brokeback Mountain- when Heath Ledger's character [name?] is looking at Jack's shirt/photo of Brokeback Mountain

When FrienRABhip Kills- when Jennifer is at Lexi's volleyball game

Raise Your Voice :o- when Terri sings at the final concert

The Lion King- When Mufasa dies :o

E.T- when E.T goes home

I have LOTS. I would be here all day.

Oh yes Edward ScissorhanRAB.

The English Patient half way through where the bomb disposal guy gets killed. His sargent(sp) who worked so closely with him knew so little about him.

The scene in Crash when thatt Persian guy goes into shoot the Mexican guy and then his daughter comes...

I had to stop the film and me and my mum looked at each other in flooRAB of tears. Amazing scene.

Au Reviour les Enfants: Whe the headmaster his taken away. The tire of the film are the last worRAB spoken.

Stand By Me: The final scene.

Remember the Titans: The funeral, when the whole team are singing.

Stepmom, when Susan Sarandon's character (can't remmeber her name atm :o) is saying goodbye to her kiRAB.

"Nobody loves you like I do"
"Nobody ever will"

 :o

Doctor Zhivago - when Lara and Yuri say goodbye.

I don't normally get emotional over films and I'm not big on romance in movies, but that film is something else. It's so beautiful and sad, and always stirs something inside me.

Edward ScissorhanRAB ending.

I'm doing a 5000 word essay on Tim Burton so am re-watching all his films. I forgot how sad Edward ScissorhanRAB makes me feel :'(

Cyrano de Bergerac. When Roxanne discovers that he wrote the letters.

Lorenzo's Oil. The majority of it, particuarly when he has his seizures or is struggling to breathe. Or when you see him in the hospital and how much he has changed, he looks so ill there.

Das Boot. After all you've seen them go through, they finally make it home and are immediately bombed. And The Captain has to watch all of these young men dying in front of him.

Grave of The Fireflies.

When you see Seita's body at the very beginning.

When Setsuko dies.

When Setsuko is sobbing because she's so hungry, and Seita has nothing to give her

Jean de Florette. When he's struck by the debris from the explosion.
When he curses God because the rain finally comes but it's miles away.
Manon's scream when she discovers who was responsible for her father's death.

To be honest, the first thing that got into my head when I saw that scene was "this is his last film. This is how he wanted to bow out". I think that played as big a part.
