What is your opinion on Americanization (the spread of American culture)?

You're empahsizing the most trivial aspect of different cultures - language.

Why don't you discuss the role of gender attitudes in culture?

Hilary Clinton is allocating money to stop Africa's culture of rape. U.S. women in neighborhoods with Hispanic immigrants complain about them cat-calling from the day work pickup point.

I pray to God (swt) all the time that we can all keep our own cultures. I can't stand the thought of having no diversity in the world

I am researching this topic for a presentation for high school students to ultimately demonstrate the importance of learning a second language.

Globally, the majority of people listen to American music and watch translated American movies. In business, English is becoming increasingly important.

Is this a positive or negative thing?

Also, are Americans embracing cultural diversity (or are they rejecting immigrants and forcing them to learn english)?

Are Americans making the same effort to learn a second language as the rest of the world is making to learn english?

I always thought of us having more of a "lack" of culture.

But as that may sound bad, I really don't think it is. We have blended so many cultures together that we kind of just steal the culture of other countries and blend them in ours. Which means every individual has their own set of values and traditions, so we can't be classified as just one. So the spread of this isn't so bad, it possesses diversity in a peaceful and positive way. Although there is still a few troubles with race now and then, and not to mention homosexuality, we're getting pretty close to a point where that stuff isn't such a big deal anymore. And that's a good thing to spread when in other countries you could be killed for thinking differently or even being of a certain race.

But there's a huge bad side too. We are pointlessly going to war and denying it being murder. Yes, apparently killing and stealing from innocent people who have earned what they have doesn't count as murder if you call it war. We are also vengeful and use scare tactics. Not to mention using poor people in other countries for labor with unfair pay and poor working conditions while they try to feed their families on what little we give them. And while all of this is happening all us U.S. citizens just go on with our lives as if this stuff isn't happening.

Although I think if only the positive side of this culture spreads, that would be great, but if the majority of the world was one culture, I would hate it. I like diversity, I just don't like it when people fight about it.

no this is so wrong.
the imperialist of the U.S.A. should
not change other country tradition or language.

also in this country which is made up of immigrants
should make t.v. shows every kind of ethnic groups not just white, black or latino.

As an American, I don't like it one bit.

Just as much as I don't like all the corps sending the jobs to China.

But while I don't like Americanization, such as the pop music and use of English spreading all over the world (killing local languages) I also don't like how when we Americans go in and feed a nation or help a people in some way we are seen as evil. Some of the US interference is bad, but some of it is good.

PS. I speak 7 languages. : )

Well, this is America, why should we have to learn a second language? Why should we accept immagrants if they come here and they don't even learn our language. This is America, we shouldn't have to do things for other countries.
