What is your most desirable Ducati?

Guys,

We don't have to dream. Since I, for one, was too impatient to wait for the 848 release, too stupid to buy an 848, I've decided to make the most out of a horrible situation. I'm gonna paint my 1098s, "cop," white, and I've ordered some 848 stickers. I'm gonna pretend my bike is an 848. No one will even know. I betcha I'll be faster just putting the 848 stickers on.

Elton, the 848 stickers may make it a little faster, but you need that awesome 848 motor, wet clutch, little back tyre, less weight.. you know, all those things that make the 848 sooo much better.. suppose it will be closer than what we have... you're a lucky man!
 
Well my favorite bike is a 2003 yellow 749. And as luck would have it I own one.

Also could go for a 916, and an early 90's 900ss.
 
Having looked through the responses I am surprised how popular the 749/999 styling has been especially with two sided swing arm!

For me the 916 Senna was the first Ducati I hitched a lift on and remains one of my favourites.
Took a 998s for a brief ride and left a little of me with that bike too...

Currently would have to say the 1098r and looking forward to the 848rrrrrrrr....
 
I would have to say the first Ducati that ever grabbed my attention. A 916. Love all the models that follow this styling but it was the early release 916 that started it for me.Preferably one with sensible mods that can be undone easily. Wait a minute. Whats that in my garage. YEAH YEAH. Finally no longer a dream. WooHoo.
