The remake was a travesty in comparison. Sometimes, the biggest scares are those left to the imagination.
Still, one movie that I don't think has been mentioned yet, is 'Silent Hill'. I was pleasantly surprised with this one and it was far more weird than I imagined it would be.
I'm also a fan of Japanese horror - 'Audition' and 'The Eye' being a couple of my favourites.
