What is your favourite genre and some of your favourite books from said genre?

My favoutire genre is paranormal romance.

Some of my favourites are a certain slant of light, dark needs at night edge by kresley cole, dark lover from the black dagger brother hood, the shifter series by kresley cole (stray, rogue and pride), the host, halfway to the grave and a quick bite and gena showalters lords of the underworld series.

and as much as it pains me to admit now i did read the twilight series a few years ago before things went a little crazy with it and i really liked the first 3 books although looking back edward wasnt as good a romantic interrest as he could have been.
 
Mine is political satire. 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, Utopia, The Island, they all make me want to pass out they are so good. I'll read any political satire, and enjoy it for what it is, but there really is a painful shortage of really good stuff out there, and certainly nothing being written in the genre nowadays that's worth reading.
