one of my favorites to cook is Macaroni and cheese. The store brands are usually (in my opinion) better than Kraft. When you buy a box of mac and cheese, check to see that it is made with durum wheat and the cheese sauce has cheddar in it. Use real butter and I use half the butter and milk the box says because I don't like it soupy.
When not in a hurry I like carrot cake ever since I found out I can shred pealed baby carrots in the food possessor and with no skin off my fingers like the had shredder. Carrot cake is great from scratch.
