Too many authors that I like. I can't just pin point it to one. My top five are: Stephen King (not b/c he's popular I've been reading him since middle school), James Patterson ( I fell in love with his book Sam's Letter to Jenifer), John Grisham (for his books Skipping Christmas and A Painted House), Janet Evanovich (for the stephanie plum series thats made me laugh so hard) Patricia Cornwell ( for the Scarpetta Series)...

It's a tie between Cassandra Clare and Sarah Dessen. They are both great writers and thay have written amazing books that I love. The plots are so interesting!

Anne Rice, because her books are AMAZING... at least they were before she became a sell-out...
Mine's probably Kate Constable. Granted, her writing's not the most accomplished (not that it's bad, it's just young adult level), but her stories are very innovative and creative (the Chanters of Tremaris, anyway). I'd never imagined a type of magic like that before, and the world she created was very well-thought-out and interesting. My favorite book, however, is by John Steinbeck.
