My dad has a 10 inch Atomic subwoofer from the early 90's. The serial is HPW1094. It has just been sitting for years and has been moved around somewhat. When hooked up it plays, but everytime it moves there is a popping noise. It sounds like the cone is hitting something. Anyways, i have moved the cone up and down with my hands and there is no clicking or popping noise. Everything is good and tight, and besides the popping, the notes hit well. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if the voice coil got damaged when being moved, but it does not seem that likely. Back in its day this was one of the top rated subwoofers by caraudiomag. I would hate to lose it.
Thanks.

for a less blunt answer i kinda agree, its old, and the voice coil is probably going. but what was top rated in 1990's isn't crap these days, other then the sentimental value of the sub, i wouldn't waste the time or money in having it redone. sorry man
