My yamaha blaster has just been repaired from the following things: Float valve replaced, ignition coil replaced. Now my atv will run fine then when i hit fourth gear the motor dies on me.also the motor locked up once but then it went back to normal what is my problem

It could be one of two things.

You say the engine locked up.

Your engine is running lean and not getting enough fuel. This could be that your carburetor was not assembled correctly when the float valve was replaced. Maybe the float level is incorrect. There may be some other issue with the carburetor and the float valve never needed replacement. Or you have a vacuum leak.

Or you have an oiling problem. This is a 2 stroke and has oil injection. Maybe the autolube lines were not correctly installed during the recent engine work.

I would suspect the carburetor as the engine does not run right in 4th gear.

Do yourself a favor before throwing any more money at it. Get yourself a service manual for this ATV. A Clymer manual will only cost you about $21.42 + shipping. It will have detailed troubleshooting information. Even if you don't do the work yourself you will better understand your ride so you can give your mechanic better information.

If you do the work yourself you will have detailed step by step instructions to service just about everything on this ATV.

A service manual will pay for itself the first time you use it.
