I have a '93 Chevy Truck with a special order 5.7L 5 speed. Trans was rebuilt with new clutch and hydraulics. It's been a few years but I notice the gears try to grind when shifting into 1st or reverse. Found that when on a flat surface in either gear with the clutch depressed the truck will move just a little. I understand there is no adjustment that can be made. Anyone care to take a SWAG?

Seems like you should have a clutch adjustment cable. One thing that will help shift gears is to replace the transmission oil with Mobil Synthetic oil of the proper weight specified in your owner's manual. It will definitely be easier to shift when the transmission and oil is cold. You could drain and refill it yourself or have it done at a shop, but make sure you ask for the empty Mobil Synthetic oil containers they used to fill it, and buy and bring the oil with you to the garage. I'd definitely give the GM dealer a chance to diagnose the transmission. It would be worth the diagnostic fee. GM might even change the oil over to synthetic for you and have their own synthetic approved oil. Check it out at your GM dealer. They want your return business.
