Ok here's the deal. My friend has a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee and we replaced the dry rotted Infinitis with 6 1/2 pioneers. The Jeep already had two MTX 15's in it running...severely under powered...on a kicker 500watt. well he has a pyle 1400watt...so I smacked him and said we're using that. The Pyle is a 4-channel 1400 watt rated at 700 per channel group so I bridged each group (ch 1 and 2 and ch 3 and 4) to each sub. (ch 1-2 to one 15 and ch 3-4 to one 15)
The Kicker I connected to the speakers inside the car. 500 watts divided up sounds GREAT on the pioneers inside the car, but the pyle is not punching at ALL! Power is a 4 or an 8 gauge power wire with inline fuse to a half farad cap. The power to each amp is routed to each other. Meaning power wire from the battery goes to pos on the cap...then from pos on the cap to the kicker and from the pos on the kicker to the pyle. Ground is done roughly the same way...ground from the pyle to ground on the kicker to neg on the cap and all of that is grounded from the neg on the cap to the chassis.
Where have I gone wrong?
