I have a 2004 Kia spectra. It has run great until about the last 6 months. It has been like it is cutting out when I am sitting idle. If I turn air conditioner on it does it really bad. Like it wants to die, but it doesn't die. When it started about 6 months ago the engine light came on and it said I had an evaporation leak(it is not the gas cap). The light will stay on about a week and then go off. Here lately I noticed when I get up to 50 mph in forth gear it kinda starts to shake(new tires, so it not the tires) like I am pushing it to hard. I have taken it to the kia repair shop near me 4 times and I had a tune up, timing belt changed, air conditioner belt changed and filter change. They said the evap leak would not make it run bad, but something is and they are no help. I don't know what else to do, but I can not afford a new car pmt right now.
The engine light just came on again yesterday while I was sitting idle at a drive through. I don't remember the code it gave. It was something like ....p0445 or something close to that but it definitely said evap leak. The technician said it had to be my gas cap. So, I paid him $25 to replace my cap and then the light came on again and it is still running rough.
