What is wrong with my car ? (1996 Chysler Concorde w/ 70K)?

This is a 1996 Chrysler Concorde with a half-full gas tank. I had an oil change done on it 10 days ago. Usually I can tell the difference after I have an oil change done, but this time I couldn't ( ie. the car still felt a little sluggish) On my way to work today I was going about 75 mph when all of a sudden the car stopped accelerating. From that point on the gas stopped working. I made it over to the shoulder when after coming to a complete stop the steering wheel locked up and the oil light came on. I had it towed to the same location where I had the oil change done, so far the manager has only told me that the oil is full and he will take a look at it, but because they are not a "full service" station (it's a Jiffy Lube) they may not be able to fix it. I am a young woman and I know all to well that I often look like an open wallet to a dishonest mechanic. I am worried that if they DID make a mistake they won't tell me and I will end up paying for it in more ways than one. Any serious opinions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
