What is wrong with my 90 Chevy truck?

All of a sudden it has started dieing a few seconds after starting. It starts up as usual but then dies quickly. I have to restart it 3-5 times. Once it's warmed up I don't have a problem restarting but if it has been sitting for 6 hrs or more it won't stay running again.
I thought it might be the fuel filter, so I had that and the oil and oil filter and air filter changed but it didn't help.
Any ideas?

Hi. The Chevy trucks around that time have what's called a T.B.I. ( throttle body injector ) mounted on top of the carburetor area. This controls the amount of fuel going into the intake. They ( 1 or both ) may be going out. If that isn't the problem go ahead and have the distributor cap and rotor replaced. But from what you described to me it sounds as it might have to do with the T.B.I. or electric choke system.
