What is wrong with my 2005 dodge neon?

I recently had a flat tire with my 2005 dodge neon...I took it t the mechanic and he replaced my 2 front tires, and I also got an oil change. They must have also put gas in my car because when I brought it in it was on E, and when I got it back it was almost 1/2 full...Anyways. As soon as I got in my car at the shop it wouldnt turn over..the mechanic came over and it magically started. He told me that I had a check engine light on when it came in, and I said that is not possible, it wasnt on before it came there, he rudely turned to me and said it had been on since my august inspection. A few hours later (after turning my gas cap) the light went off, and things were well...or so I thought. I went to fill my gas tank a few hours later and I went to get back in and the car wouldnt start. I finally got it to start and it started jerking and barely moving, I made it the block back home, but have no clue what is wrong with my car.
 
take it to another mechanic. sounds like a intake hose was taken off. when a mechanic does more then what was asked they face a huge liability. before doing anything extra you should have been notify. But the worst thing that this mechanic did was to plainly call you a liar. he would have been in hot water with me.
