What is wrong with me?!

I am 29 years old and up until a year ago never suffered from headaches. My headaches started around the time of my period every month and I would have a horrible headache for the first day of my period and I would be fine. A year later I now have a headache at some point everyday. Sometimes ibuprofin helps, sometimes tyelonol helps, sometime sinus meds. help and sometimes nothing helps. Lately the headaches have gotten better but other symptoms have popped up such as nausea, indigestion, stuffed nose, ringing and pressure in my ears, and a strange vision issue which I have no idea how to describe other than to say it looks like im trying to look through smoke...I can see clearly but it's almost hazy. I also feel dizzy at some points, vertigo and get a tingly feeling that can either be in my hands, hands and feet or (like right now) all over my body. Sometimes my legs feel weak and if Im typing I have a hard time hitting the right keys.

I have been seeing my dr. for over a year and have tried medications for migraines and sinus infections. Nothing has helped. I have alot of pain in my neck and my upper back and have been told by a couple of dr.s now in walk in clinics that I have strained muscles in my neck that are causing the vision issues and headaches.

I am scheduled to see an allergist this summer.

I have endometriosis and am being treated with monthly injections of Lupron. My symptoms started before the injections and my gynecologist does not think any of these are related.

I have not had a CT scan or MRI.

I generally am a happy person (so no, don't feel that this is stress related) but am feeling pretty

Hey lexy, Years and years ago I suffered from headaches and they were my only symptoms for over a year. I even went so far as to to A Headache Specialist in Nashville ( I live in Chattanooga), they dx me with tension headaches, migraines, pretty much everything, even rebound headaches from meds like advil and tylenol. Long story short is that I researched my own symptoms online and found I had symptoms of a herniated discs, as I too had tingling and numbness in my arms and hands. No doctor would listen me, they did not like the fact that I was telling them I had the exact symptoms others had with herniated cervical discs. After about a year, my headaches stopped and the pain went down instead of up, terrible neck pain, pain between shoulder blades, hands going numb etc. I FINALLY found a doctor that did order an mri (Ihad had xrays that showed nothing) and indeed I did have TWO herniated discs! This took FIVE long awful years to get the correct dx. I would recommend you asking around here for people that live near you for a doctor that will LISTEN to you and then make an appt asap! Please do not suffer for five years like I did. YOU know you body better than anyone girl! Best of luck to you....btw, where do you live?? -katie

Lexy: Kbos's info is good. I'd also look into having your hormones checked. You could be heading into perimenopause. Yes, it can start as early as 30 years old. Some of the headaches can be hormone related. Have you ever tried a chiropractor? They could help loosen you up some and it might help with the headaches. These days where people are sitting in front of the computer all the time, it puts alot of stress and strain on the neck and back. A massage might be good from time to time as well.

You're also on Lupron. I am too. Lupron has a side-effect of muscle pain!!! Have your periods stopped? Lupron puts you in a total menopause state. It reduces the estrogen in you which is probably causing the endometriosis. You might also benefit from some added progesterone - the calming hormone. You can buy creams at any health food store. Your doctor might not think they're related but I bet you they are. You need to listen to your own instinct and go with your gut feeling. Doctors learn more from their patients than they know.

I told several doctors 5 years ago what was wrong with me and they wouldn't listen. Now they believe me because I've proved it to them. I ended up with epilepsy/seizures as part of menopause. I'm estrogen dominant and it's causing the brain cells to misfire.
That's why I'm on the Lupron, to get the estrogen down. It's a long process.
Migraines/headaches are in the same catagory as epilepsy in my opinion. Hormones regulate your brain more than you know.

If you're having the blurry vision I'd get the MRI to make sure there's nothing in your head causing the blurred vision. Blurry vision, headaches and dizziness are also symptoms of low blood sugar.

Other than Lupron, are you on any other meds? If you are, check out the side effects and make sure they're not conflicting with each other. Take Care.
