What is wrong with me and why am I getting sharp pains from swallowing?

The other day I was experiencing a weird tingly feeling at the bottom of my throat that made me feel sick although it wasn't strong enough to make me throw up, but since it was 2 am I decided I would just make myself throw up because being up at that hour for numerous hours over the toilet not throwing up after needing too; is a let down, and I needed to get to sleep so I just made myself throw up clear body fluids. I thought it was just a weird thing my body was doing and that it had pasted but i'm up at 2 am once again with the most unbearable pains- every time I swallow. It's the feeling you get when you accidentally swallow a piece of food to fast and it's the "going down the wrong pipe" kind of feeling, but much worst and EVERY time I swallow (including water, and saliva). I can't sleep, or function because the pain is so sharp. Does anyone have any clue as to what it could be?

Btw- I am a sixteen year old female.

you may have a drip from a cold, but most likely you have strep throat. This is contagious and easily curable with a simple antibiotic like amoxicillan, which is available for free at most if not all pharmacies. see your doctor to get your throat swabbed and tested for strep. This is a very common illness, and there are over 80 different classifications of it.

I would know, i was so prone to strep I basically permanently had it until I had to have a tonsillectomy.

But only your doctor can really tell you whats wrong. not anyone here.

get well soon!

fun fact: Antibiotics in liquid form like amoxicillan are actually molds.
