What is with people letting their children run wild in restaurants? I am a

waitress and I almost got? knocked down or tripped about 70 times over the weekend. I also had a kid, about 8 years old, push past me while I had a really heavy tray in my hands. The parents do nothing. I don't understand.

I know. I used to work as a hostess at a Denny's and I hated it when families with children would come in. It's not just restaurants, it's stores, too. Last night at Walmart, this boy (probably around 10 years old) was running around, pushing an empty cart, and ran in to my cart, head on. He had no parent in sight. I wanted to rip his head off, but I didn't.

Kids and parents like these make me not want to go out in public or have kids of my own.

I work in retail and have a very similar problem. People just don't pay attention to their kids. They run around the store like wild animals, almost knocking senior citizens over. They knock clothes off the racks or grab them and drag them over the floor. We have tried saying things to the parents and we got the dirtiest looks in the world, or told to mind our own business.

I hate that. I've never worked in a restaurant but it annoys me when I'm trying to have a nice quiet civilized meal with friends or family and a load of kids are running around and screaming. When my siblings and I were younger we were always well behaved in public.

Lol, I already sound like an old person at 16.

But then if you drop the heavy tray on their little darling, you get in trouble!! Some people are lazy and they expect the staff to act as babysitters. The truth of the matter is, the kid should be seated at the table. Not running around!! The parents should have been informed of that or asked to leave.
