what is this Riddle???

I went to the garden and got it, when I came into the house I cried because of it.
 
you went to the garden and got the onion and ten when you came into the house you cried when you were chopping it because.but that's actually not crying,is it?the riddle should be-i went to the garden and got it,when i changed its shape in the house(chopping),my eyes started welling up.
