I played it in the 90's, and it centered around playing as an elf. You went around and collected gold, including in caves. Umm that's kind of all I remember. But sometimes he would speak and be like, "good job! You just...." I don't remember what he'd say after that.
Umm there was another game like it, with the elf. But it was located in a snowy place, and I remember having him climb a mountain and use a pick axe. And I believe he would also collect gold, or diamonds or something.
