What is it called when someone is on a bike jumping from obstacle to obstacle while stopping and starting and keeping their balance. Hoping from one thing and balancing on one wheel sometimes and then hoping to another obstacle. some guy did it on ripleys believe it or not.

Its not a big deal, depending on what the obstacles are. I think it's just called 'Trials'. A friend of mine did it casually.

I also saw them doing it in Whistler BC, and it was actually scary to watch. They mostly just wore mountainbiking gear (and mountainbikes) with really good hydraulic brakes. I think i heard something about the bikes being modified to only have a single gear (no deraillers to get chewed up on rocks) which was a really low one (1:1 or lower).

edit: It might be freestyle, but i think thats specifically with a BMX, and on flat ground, almost like figureskating.

oh yeah. Its called freestyle.

There are two types of freestyle biking, but all you need to know is it is called freestyle.

It is called trial biking, or freestyle trial biking.

They use mountain bikes for it. BMX is something totally different.
