What is this book called?

The book is by a woman and English Author. She's from Europe.
The book is about a girl and her "uncle" and they go to Antarctica. The Uncle wants to find the place that leads to the center of the Earth where he thinks others are living. I read this last summer but I don't remember any names or the title. The cover was all snowy like Antartica.
