What is the view of creation of Eastern religions/cultures?

I mean, like Hindu, Buddhist etc. What do they teach in these countries?

Darwin's evolution is a Western idea (initially) and I have a hard time believing that a country like China doesn't have their own belief about how life came about and when and how humans appeared on the scene

I guess I am bringing this up because of the debate on teaching Darwin's evolution vs. some other well accepted theory
I guess I was thinking about how matter came from non-matter etc. and the spiritual origin living things

i'm not sure about hindu...i haven't done much research, i've just gotten into eastern beliefs, and the only one i'm semi comfortable with is buddhism.

buddhism isn't very concerned with where we came from, its more concerned with how to get where we're going.

i do know that evolution (it wasn't called that obviously) is a big part of reincarnation and karma.

good karma ensured that the next carnation of yourself will have "evolved" your mind so that it is a little closer to enlightenment, or nirvana.
