What is the value or importance of ecological biodiversity?

Environmentally, life is a great balance of predators, prey, and ecosystem. Remove a few key predators here, enough prey there, and suddenly the whole food web will collapse, leading to large swaths of species going extinct.

Personally, biodiversity is beauty. This is the only planet we know of that contains life. It seems a tragedy to even allow one species to become extinct.

in short: as different species prefer to live in different type of ecosystem, the presence of the variation will help them to live in areas that is most suitable for them.
