What is the ultimate survival knife for hiking?

One of the best knives to carry is a Swiss Army knife. The tools come in quite handy in the real world. Any blade over 4 inches long becomes cumbersome to use as a "camp" knife. I love the USMC K-Bar but at 6 inches it's best use is for fighting, not hiking.
 
say you get caught in a storm and injured and have to spend the night in the mountains. what would be the best survival knife for this type hiking.
 
fixed balde with a hard scapered belt attchement.. and stone gerber or usmc
