This truck currently has a 318 in it, but I have heard that the slant six has great torque and great longevity.

the 6 will not pull what the 318 will not even close...with the 6 2000 to 3000 pounds tops...with 318...maybe 6000

It doesn,t matter what engine you have really besides MPG,The gear ratio in the rear end / transmission determines How much weight you can pull.We have an 1981 6cyl which we drove East Coast to west and back again.1st trip we pulled a fully self contained trailer,then pulled a boat locally to the Lakes & mountain KOA's..Then converted it into a transportation bus for local sight seeing buisness.
