In some cartoons, depending on the theme or locale, they use a lot of themed puns. In the Flintstones they used a lot of Stone Age/Rock and Mineral puns, In the Jetsons they used Space Age/Futuristic/Tech puns. In shows like Swat Cats they used cat puns.
