Long story short: Sam Fisher is an NSA agent who does SUPER covert ops in other countries, as well as some missions here in the US.
In the first game, you had to find some terrorist named Nikoladze or something... he basically commited Genocide in Azerbajan.
The second game revolves around Latin American militants an somehow Biological Weapons get involved...
The 3rd game is almost all about Cyber Terrorist that can cripple the US Military. The NSA sends Sam around the world to stop them.
The 4th game (Double Agent) is mostly where the whole game starts to revolve around Sam Fisher. His daughter gets killed by some drunk driver (or so the game says at the time) and Fisher gets really depressed.
The next game will be about Sam getting revenge on those who were responsible for his daughters death.
