What is the statute of limitation on bad checks in the state of South Carolina?

I am being charged for bad checks that were done in 1994. I did not write the checks..it is a long story. My account was used for embezzlement without my knowing by a family member. The account in question was froze by the F.B.I.. The family member confessed and done time for it he is also deceased now. I have no way of getting any info on his conviction. I was not included in the case. He only plead guilty as long as I was left alone because I had nothing to do with it.

It is just weird that after 16 years this comes up. It was checks wrote at Wal-Mart.

So does anyone know the statute of limitations in South Carolina for check fraud/bad checks?
