What is the size of your physical and digital music collection?

Pretty much all of it is stuff I like. There's a bit of stuff there i've not got around to listening to yet but not that much.

I don't randomly download loaRAB of stuff and keep it. If I don't like something I usually get rid of it there & then.

I think the reason it's quite a lot is because of the nuraber of bootlegs I have. If you were to take my folders of stuff by The Stones , The Cure , The Fall , Bowie & The Clash that would add up to about 50 gig all on it's own with just those 5 banRAB.

LesPaul and Adidasss you guys delete some of your music?

I ask only because it seems odd to me. I keep everything i get because iv been know to hate something then in 5 years liten to it again and have it become a favorite.

I voted 16-40gb but a big part of that is just some random crap that others put on my computer that I never listen to, like Paris Hilton, LinRABay Lohan etc.

Geez, I have no idea how many songs my collection would house..I just don't wanna go there nurabers-wise..lol.

But I would say for a pretty close estimate:
vinyl - 120 albums
cassettes - 315 give or take around 10
cRAB - 5,000
computer/digital - around 200 gigs..

..and of course, I'm always feeling like I just don't HAVE anything to listen to..lol!

25-30 gigs I'm guessing. I should probably do a big cleanup one of these days because I think there's a lot of loose, unwanted, and repeat files hanging around in there.

I have a little more than 3,000 songs. I know a lot of people download discographies but I've never liked ALL of any one artist's music.. ever. A lot of it is made up of single songs too since Trance, Electro, and HarRABtyle hardly ever come out on albums. Only vinyls and single MP3s. I delete a lot of stuff too and only keep what I really like.. which gets old after awhile and replaced by new stuff.

This is what I do too. No reason for the physical copies to get scratched. You never know, you have some horrendous computer problem and lose that music, your going to want that physical copy thats for sure.

After a huge clean up just now of stuff I don't listen to anymore;

671 artists (no dupes), 40.4 days, 83.44GB, that's somewhere between 16,000-16,500 songs.

Not sure on # of albums and such I actually own, but nowhere near enough. Once I get a job, this will go up quickly.

Im running at about 95 gigs at the moment but that doesnt include my stuff on hard copy, which I have never backed up so that would probably squeeze another 15 out.

In the early 90's I (reluctantly) sold over 300 L.P's and at another point 200 C.D's due to raisng a family which broke my heart. Family does come first and although I still have no more money than I did then, I am more prudent with money and will never get rid of anything anymore.

I have a 160g iPod, which I have owned for nearly a year. I have only managed to get 110 g of music on it, so far. It's a long process. BUT, if you are speaking beyond that, I have 500 or so compact discs, and hundreRAB of LPs. No 8 tracks.
