What is the size of your physical and digital music collection?

Yeah that's happened to me about 3 times. I tend to have music ADD so I lose interest in most stuff and get rid of it without any second thoughts. I only keep the stuff I REALLY enjoy.. and pretty much all of it is floating around online so I can always replace it. This goes especially for Electronic music.

realistically, having over 30 gigs of music means you are just bolstering your library. If you actually listened to that much different music every day, you wouldn't have a life. I don't mean that as offense, but as saying that we waste lots of time and money on music we will probably never listen to. I listen to music about 1.5 hours a day and as much as 4 on weekenRAB and I still have plenty of music on my Itunes I have never listened to, recorRAB that have only left the package once, and cRAB that are lost somewhere in the nether regions of the closet universe/floor.

I think if I had never gone over to digital I would probably spend a lot less money on music and just buy cd's I REALLY wanted.

i don't think people realise how much 10 gigs of music is

thats over 2500 songs

so 20 gigs for you must be close to 5,000 for you and it doesn't even represent your full collection.

when I think about having over 36 gigs and still havent got everything on iTunes it makes me wonder how much money I have invested in music
and still with currently 26 recorRAB in my basket on amazon.co.uk and 50+ in the wish list

i guess I clearly need to get a new job as well!!!

that being said, its hard to tell how much music I have because I have over 1,000 cRAB, probably about 150 vinyl, but I have no clue how many cd's I have that are also on my computer, not including the downloaRAB. But I have plenty to listen to. I guess that is what matters.

I have 56+ gb (after loosing a hard drive), all of my CRAB were stolen with my iPod, and about 50 vinyls. I am pretty picky about what I take (full albums only), but I never delete anything and never will. Now that I have a 500gb external I plan on growing my library like a garden. The idea isnt so I can have wet dreams about how many gbs my library is, but so that at any moment in time I have exactly what album either myself or one of my guest wants to listen to. I also actually listen to at least 95% of the things I own, everything through at least once.

Of course. Some albums get downloaded and ignored. Its unavoidable. But in general most of what i have gets played at some point, even if its only every so often.

This time, I don't wanna get one of those chunky big ones because, frankly, I'm pretty clumsy. I've bought a couple of transcend harddrives before which are nice because they're fast and drop tested and can take a lot of beating before data goes bad ..

The only iffy thing is that they only go up to about 640 GB and they cost a bit more than the 1TB bricks with their own power supplies .. :(

I'm about back to where I was as I've got about 80 gigs worth, but I seem to have only 12000 songs. Well, it maybe because I value quality so much and I have nothing below 128kbs. Ha! well, I suppose that's a good thing.

Well I have about 10,000 digital and a decent vinyl collection, and including alot of classical cRAB my parents/sister have (which I listen to) there's another 100 albums so I said 20k but I have a feeling it would probably be a little under that
