What is the size of your physical and digital music collection?

I crashed a couple of years ago, and lost everything on my hard drive. But at that point all the music that I had digitised so far was on my iPod so I managed to take it off there and back onto my computer. Since then I have an external hard drive.

It's not always about the music you like. To me it is about getting all the music that deserves to be remerabered. I have tons of tunes in my collection that I will never listen to but know maybe others will. I listen to music all day while I am searching TPB and other trackers. I never thought I would collect this much music but finding uploaders with such great tastes made me realize there is a lot of music that is great (even if I don't think it is).

600 gigs and counting Azureus never turned off.

It's not really that excessive. Music-listening is both a personal experience and one of pure adventure. In my experience, the people with the most interesting taste are those who play both the rolling stone and the still one - they go all over the map, collecting music from various styles, time frames, subcultures, but they are always to make deep connections with what they find, and they don't completely abandon their past.

100,000 would just take a little while. Nothing wrong with it particularly, though.

I'm at around 100 gb, which kinda sucks because I have to pick and choose what to put on my Cowon now even though it's 80 gb

All purchased though, I don't download any music.

If we're doing by memory which means nothing then:

239,700 Gig of music in FLAC =799 Albums + 5 files of 500 or more tracks, plus other assorted audio files. This is my master digital music collection. All ripped CRAB are FLAC.

106Gig of the same albums in various quality mp3 192-320kps. This is for my iPod

4413 Albums in CD format, minus 799, leaving 3614 left to rip. Not gonna try and estimate how much memory that is.

I had about 30 gigs, then the external harddrive I was storing it on died out.

I started rebuilding my music collection on my desktop computer, got to maybe 15 gigs, then the motherboard fried.

Now I have about 20 gigs on a shiny new computer.

I estimate that if it wasn't for every collection I try to build up, I would have roughly 50 gigs. Right now I'm getting all of the old albums that I lost back, and starting to get some new music. The only problem is I can't remeraber all the banRAB I listened too... I'm bad with names. The positive effect is that while getting all of my old music back I revisited a lot of old banRAB that sort of got buried amongst the new stuff.

I have about 40 CD's, and bunch of old vinyl albums lying around. My dad had a small amount, and he got a bunch from a friend who didn't want them anymore.
