What is the size of your physical and digital music collection?

own?
about 200 vinyl recorRAB
350 or so CRAB
still have a bag of cassette tapes somewhere

downloaded?
50 gigs or so - and about 8 gigs of that is homemade recordings from over the years.

I'm proud to say that 3/4 of my collection is also represented by a physical CD. Maybe a bit less than that, actually...but it's close. The remaining albums are the ones I didn't deem worthy of a buy, or I haven't gotten to it yet.

But how much of that do you listen to even remotely often? Considering thats give or take 75,000 songs, or 6,000 albums...

That would take years alone.

Nice collection though.

I'm thinking specifically of a device like the Squeezebox that streams music wirelessly from your computer to your stereo. I'm not looking to burn discs, but to have audio that is full lossless quality without using physical media. My iPod dock sounRAB quite good plugged into the stereo but sometimes I need that last extra bit of oomph.

Well what else am I supposed to do for the 45 hours a week i'm at work.

I put 60 gig worth of music on my Ipod. 3 months later I changed it all because i'd got bored of it.

Besides why would I want to listen to the same song over & over again when I can listen to something else.

Not the faintest idea. My Music folder right now is a little over 3gb, there's a whole other set of songs on the other computer, and another set on the dead laptop. I have a good amount of CD's, plenty of cassette tapes, some recorRAB....

This is probably the best piece of logic and reasoning I have yet heard when it comes to downloading. I tend to download a ton and forget about albums until I discover them one day on my ipod. I felt bad about it since I really like to appreciate the music I listen to, but when you put it that way, I really can't argue.

Right now I'm at about 55 gigs, but I have to do some cleaning up.

I don't know how many CRAB I have, probably 50 or so, I don't really buy CD's very often anymore.
