what is the "right way" to discipline a 5 year old?

my 5 year old is very hard headed and i just need new ways to discipline him the "time out" thing is just not cutting it please let me know if anyone had any new and crative way to discipline this strong age
 
Taking away of privileges or items can be a huge deal at that age. The same with positive reinforcement.

In kids who are stubborn and hard headed, spanking will often make them even more defiant and hard headed. And if you think that spanking will somehow "break" their will, it won't. Logic, boundaries, and consistency is usually the way to go.
 
i HATED being stuck in the corner and putting soap in my mouth for 10 seconds and being sent to my room for a half hour ( you must take away things like a tv or phone or game systems.....)! those 3 ways made me think about what i did wrong and worked! i dont get in trouble now! im a good 13 year old!
 
There must be something that he really likes. Whether it's a stuffed animal or a game, he probably really likes something of his. What you have to do is threaten to take that away. If he continues, take it away. [NOT FOREVER THOUGH!]

Belt, just get the belt and start taking all his stuff in till his has nothing and leave it like that in till he start earning it back little by little
