What is the right way of riding your bike on the road?

I was wondering about what is the right way, side, and everything on how to ride on the street. I have been reading some posts and some rules about it, so I do that on the neighborhood roads, not the main streets. But even if I do everything right, people honk at me when theres either space right next to me, or I'm going as fast as the car itself (10-25 mph). Am I doing something wrong when I ride on the road? I wear my helmet, hand signal, and mostly ride in between the right side and the middle of the street. Help me! I need to know how to ride a bike on the street without being honked at and/ or doing something wrong that could get me in deep trouble. I am 12 and ride to school by neighborhood streets. Its legal right?
 
Haha don't worry. It's legal... Technically, the right way to ride on the street on a bike is on the right side (with the cars) although when walking, always walk on the left. (: hope i helped a bit!! i LOVE riding my bike!
