...second? Even though it promises about 1.5mb of download speed, or 750kb depending on your package, I find that at most I get about 70K a second downloading from a major site such as Microsoft or Google. Netflix takes me 5-10 minutes just to load, and just forget about youtube videos beyond the minimum resolution.

I know DSL theoretically places these speed limits, knowing very well that nobody gets the max, but 70kb a second seems very slow to me.

I've called ATT to complain but they say I have to pay $100 for their tech support to fix my computer. I know what I'm doing with my computers and I've tried directly connecting via a brand new computer before even.

Any ideas on what is going on or what to expect from their basic DSL package so I can compare or get some ideas? Thanks.
Yea I wasn't being very detailed, which is required here. I meant to say KB, so I get about 70KB a second, and I'm promised 1.5mb a second download speed. I may be getting their basic package rate of 750 kb (lowercase b), but if that's the case, 70KB is still too slow.

I'm assuming it's because I'm too far away from their hub, so there is not much they can do?
According to speedtest, I'm getting 0.66mb/sec on download and 0.26mb/sec on upload. Seems significantly slower than their quoted max speeds, even on the low end, assuming I'm getting the 750kb/sec plan, even though this basic plan is now sold with the higher quote of 1.5mb on download.. err ATT dissapoints me..
