what is the quickest way to build our credit?

my husband and i want to buy a home. in order to qualify for a mortgage we need to bring his credit score up by 100 points. what are the quickest ways. please be specific (: thank you!
 
Take out a loan or credit card for 1000.00 to 2000.00 pay it back for the full owing balance that you've spent (credit card) or pay back a little more than your allotted payment amount (loan) this will not happen in a matter of days but it will happen in a matter of months and it will show as positive credit on your credit bureau report.
