what is the point of family complaining?

when people complain you stopped calling and writing them, what do they mean..are they saying they want you to keep in touch with them..

is everyone in touch with their families in today's economic situation..if i am always writing to my cousin and he never replied, what would that mean..if i write and he replies every now and then, what does that mean..can someone explain this to me..

how would you feel if you traveled to visit america to see family and they never came to india or they never contacted you after you visited them..can someone tell me how this works

When it comes to my family, I keep in touch with my husbands family, some of them. But I really don't speak to anyone in my own family since they are all in Germany. Some people get rude about not receiving letters/calls because they think they should be the ones that people are thinking about. What they don't realize is using a phone works both ways. Don't let it bother you. Trust me I know its easier said than done. If they can't visit or call you, it isn't worth your time, family or not.
