What is the piece, on the front of the underside hood of a car, that clicks down

into the latch? I'm looking for that "U-bar" shaped piece and can't find it anywhere. I think I'm calling it the wrong name. I've heard people call it a striker, a U-bar, a bar, but when I search online or call junk yards for it, they have no idea what I'm talking about. Can anyone help me out here? I'm desperate! lol
 
That is known as the "striker." No salvage yard will sell it seperately. They will only sell it with the hood. On most most vehicles, it is not sold seperately. It is built into the hood ir it is just flat out not sold seperately from the hood. Give me the year, make and model of your car and I can tell you if it is offered seperately.
