Hey guys,

I'm planning on buying a bike and don't know what size wheels would be best for me. I'm 5'8" and i'm thinking that a 26" would probably fit. I also don't want too spend too much money so do you guys know any simple bikes with no gears and stuff? Please list what my bike size is and any good bikes that fit my description for a chance to win 10 pts.

Thank you,

again Ill just settle for two but what it seems to me is that too many non-cyclists are asking the same question more often, so here goes. The industry standard for mountain bikes and some (not all) hybrid bikes is 26" wheels! DON'T QUESTION THAT, IT IS FACT! I think you need to start with Wal-Mart or the K mart brands as It is so obvious that you know nothing about cycling now (this is what most of us did) Don't worry about it, those Wm and Km bikes are cheap enough and should last you long enough to learn balance at least but don't keep it long, it will rust on you and probably fall apart soon after (or before) You need a medium frame or a 17" likely, but........ those big box retailers don't have sizes on their so called "bikes" and you're on your own there as most of them are ill fitting anyway and they wont let you ride them in the store....Save your money and GO TO A BIKE SHOP AND GET FITTED PROPERLY. This will avert any embarrassment that you may get and you will actually get a good bike. Some bike shops will sell you a used bike for cheap too, not all, so shop it around!
