i have a 1995 suburban that has a pressure between 35-40 at an idle but never goes above 40 through RPM rang is this normal or should i look into changing oil pump?????

That is a very good pressure, no need in changing the pump if this is the idle pressure.

if the gauge does not react rpm changes, the gauge may be malfunctioning. Once the engine is up to operating temp. they tend to show oil pressure rising and falling with rpm changes. If low miles you should see 30-40psi at idle, but should also see 50-60 range at speed. Alot of GM trucks from 95-1999 has various issue with the gauges doing weird stuff. As long as you engine isnt knocking in the lower end, or burning a bunch of oil, I wouldn't worry about. Hope this helps

This is very good pressure. You shouldn't worry about it unless it drops below 10.
