The movie I am looking for is about something that destroys a city. When it happens, a family of a mother, aunt and two children are in a tunnel. Only the two children survive. Also a dad is in the tunnel and is air lifted out, but dies shortly after. It was a very long time ago (about 10 years) and I saw it on TV in the middle of the day, so it is hard for me to remember. I can also remember the father writing a note as he was trapped in the car, but fortunately was then pulled out. His family watched on TV and saw him getting lifted out, then went to the hospital. Also the two children and their family were on their way to the dentist. Sorry that is about it.
