It was a game that started with a blonde teenage boy and his friends dared him to go into the forest or something like that and then there was an earthquake and he fell into another world where you have to use monsters
 
It sounds like Telefang. There was an unofficial English translation floating around, and bootleg copies are occasional sold under the name Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Jade.
