I can't come up with it. Here is the main plot:
Its about the government instituting a censor that forces everyone to be equal. People who are too strong are weighed down by bags of bird shot and people who are too smart have to have devices put in their ears that make load noises to distract them.
A couple in this story have a son who is so exceptional that he is covered in contraptions to bring him down. He takes them off at a concert or something like it and convinces on of the dances to remove her things as well. They start dancing...
But then the head of the censor busts in and shoots them booth dead with a shotgun. The parents witnessed this on TV but forgot about it just after because of the devices on the father and the mother's natural stupidity.
