What is the most quoted book in the world?

The Bible.

Quoted in sermons, by preachers, by students in generally all parts of the world.

But I tried to read it. All the long lists of things like John is the son of this guy, who is the son of this guy, who is the son of this guy, and so on is absolutely boring.

The Bible isn't totally correct; I'd say it's actually the Torah. While the Torah is basically the Old Testament of the Bible, it was around on its own for centuries before the new Testament was written and so had more opportunity to be quoted. "Thou shalt not kill"
