What is the most INFLUENTIAL film of the past 15 years?

I'd say in terms of special effects, then Terminator 2 was the most influential...

I wouldn't say there has been ONE most influential film in the last 15 years. Films like Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, Titanic, Goodfellas, Scream, Die Hard have all affected future film making....

Do you not reckon band of brothers was influenced actual happenings from World War 2?? And as it happens.......... Ryan's story was based on events that happened during WW2! So that means, they were both influenced by WW2!!!!

Personally I'd say Akira.

The Matrix, although a blockbuster has influenced all modern blockbuster filmmaking. If it weren't for Akira, The Matrix would not have existed... [/B][/QUOTE]

thats true

I think Saving Private Ryan definitely had an influence on films such as Black Hawk Down and We Were Soldiers.

The sheer scale of graphic violence in the opening 30 mins of Private Ryan paved the way for it to become the norm in the above films.

I'm not sure i would call it the most influential film of the past 15 years, but every war movie made since has and wil be compared to it.

I think Shawshank Redemption to some extent has been widely influencial. Particularly on the Green Mile.

The same can be said of films like Seven and more recently the Sixth Sense.

Totally agree about Tarrantino his films have been original and added a different approach to film making.

Well, the same director and original story writer would have something to do with that....

They both have influenced a lot of movie making since they were made... The Sixth Sense style of movie is already become boring and samey... The same fate suffered by the new style of horror pioneered by Wes Craven's New Nightmare...

Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood gave birth to films like the Scary Movie trilogy (same makers, same writers), Not Another Teen Movie etc. It redefined spoof film making... Like Airplane did in its day.
