why do you need to know if you are asking for an opinion?
I would say Telescope in general. Without telescope we wouldn't know half of the things we know about the Universe. Just see everything we have discovered because of telescopes in the pass century.
In specific, the Hubble telescope has been the most important invention. Thanks to that we have seen a lot more than what we could imagine a century ago.
