to keep you from 'wrongdoing'? I have many and realized the sames stories has been used in JW's congregations around the world, they only twist them a bit, lol
I remember one about a pioneer while flying to another state to attend an assembly had a one night stand with a guy and that this guy gave her a present before she left and asked her to open it while on board and that there was a message that said "Welcome to the world of AIDS" so the moral of the story is that if you ever had sex with a non JW you would get AIDS!
Another about keeping quiet in the meetings because you could upset your parents so much that they could do something crazy, like apparently a 'sister' kept her hand over he child's mouth (and unknowingly nose too) while looking at the 'brother' that was preaching, she suffocated her child to death!
And I've just been remembering all these ridiculous stories and was wondering as a child raised with the JW's, what stories were you told to instill fear about certain practices?
@conundrum_dragon: Oh my goodness!! I forgot about those stories! I remember as a child they were the most popular toys and I was NEVER allowed to have one because the 'impersonated demons' with their colored hair and where a way to get demons in our house!! wth? haha! wow! that was a good one!
I wasn't allowed to have cabbage patch dolls either, they were demons too, lol!
