i want to buy an iphone and i've heard about the jail broken about the iphone so would you like to help me to understand the meaning of that term. thanks

Its a strangely odd word for what used to be called 'unblocking' as when to free up a mobile for use on any network.

Jail broken....no wonder the English language has gone to pot when it used so out of context in this idiom!
